Left camp at 7.00am on the road for five an a half hours with 15min break to make a coffee at a roadside rest area. Half the trip still on the bumpy roads but after that slowly improved. A lot of these areas are in flood zones so I thought that might be the problem with these roads built on a soft foundation. But I don’t know. We drove through Hughenden and a few very small little towns. If you blinked you would have missed them. We counted 25 Road Trains on the road today. Even overtook two, one after the other on very bumpy roads. we think they were travelling together. Hence they weren’t going as fast as the trucks usually go. We stuck behind them for some time. Usually we slow down to let them go. Pulled in camp at 12.30pm and settled in for a two night stop. Nothing planed this afternoon but will go and have a look around town tomorrow. At a glimpse passing through town it looked like a lot of well maintain historic buildings. That will get the camera clicking. Another beautiful day. 😎

Some flat land but still just stubby trees.
Until tomorrow, hopefully I will have some more interesting photos exploring around Charters Towers. A real nothing day today.
