Big trip today so hit the road at 7.00am. Sun wasn’t up but just about to come over the horizon. We were on the road for five hours, about 400km with a quick coffee break on the side of the road and another to fill up with diesel. Arriving at Devils Marbles Hotel just after 12 noon. Checked in where they have camping in behind the Hotel. It’s not really a hotel more like cabins and sites with power and water. These places like Roadhouses have these facilities in behind them hoping the travellers will spend up in the bar and restaurant. Caught up with the washing which drys in no time with this heat. Just going that extra 400kms north made it so hot and we also crossed the Tropic of Capricorn line today. Sweltering this arvo. I’m sure it will soon get cold tonight. Sun just going down.

Alice Springs to Devils Marbles Hotel, W
Great cloud formations. Sun just hitting the clouds. Still not on us.
We cross over this today
After five hours on the road arrived at Devil's Marbles hotel. Just a pub and restaurant. Cabins out the back as well as the camp sites.
This is our corner. At the end of a row. Always like being at the end of row as you only have one neighbour
I had read there was some water tank art here but couldn’t see any looking up high. Then I turned around and there was this little tank. But it was fun and very colourful.
Just one night here, as I say for a sleepover. We’ll get another early start tomorrow . Stop and see the real Devils Marbles 9 kms further north as you will see in my post tomorrow. Hopefully we might catch at sunrise which they say brings out the red colour. And yes I used that word Red.
