Just on the road photos today, heading to Uluṟu (Ayres Rock.)
We will be driving out to see the Rock tomorrow which is 20kms Away.
We are now seeing trees
Lots of scrub
Above and below saw these colours and pulled into a Parking bay.
Above and below walked across the road to take these shots. Just look at this soil. We are now in the middle of the Red Centre.
No this isn’t Ayres Rock. This is Mount Conner, apparently some mistake it for Uluṟu.
.
We are back to the tussock grass, but with trees. First half of today’s trip was mainly scrub land so I didn’t bother with photos.
I do go mad with the creamy tussock grass. Such a good contrast with the red soil.
This is our first sighting of The Rock. Will get right up close tomorrow. Looking forward to that.
Just approaching Yulara Town where we are camping 20km from Ayers Rock.
Have arrived for a three night stay to explore this magnificent part of the country.
This is where we are for the next three nights. The middle of the Red Centre, AKA The Red Desert. 460km, due east, five hours driving to The Lambert Cente. Centre of Australia.
Sun just going down in camp.
